Spiraling Serenity A symbol of harmony and natural balance
Installed in 2025 in Portsmouth, NH, “Spiraling Serenity” stands as a new landmark for the city, a bold, freestanding sculpture crafted from steel with a direct-to-metal epoxy coating and a protective anti-graffiti finish. Created by Vito Di Bari, the artwork stretches 22 feet wide and 14 feet tall, its form inspired by the golden ratio and the timeless patterns found in the Fibonacci sequence. With a design that evokes the delicate yet powerful structure of a leaf, the sculpture is more than a visual statement; it’s a site-specific homage to the environment and the community it inhabits.

The sculpture features a colossal leaf folded into a perfect golden spiral, creating a sense of movement and organic growth. The surface is intricate, featuring Voronoi diagrams that mimic the cellular structures of living organisms. This complex geometry allows for an interplay of light and shadow, ensuring the piece evolves with the passing of the day and the changing of the seasons.
