MYEQUILIBRIA The Wellness Park
MyEquilibria is a revolutionary new idea in fitness that is spreading all over the globe. Part work of public art and part futuristic technology, MyEquilibria is an outdoor gym unlike any other you’ve seen. With MyEquilibria, you can get a complete workout outside while enjoying nature and fresh air.
As the name suggests, the idea behind MyEquilibria is to create an equilibrium between the environment, our body, and our mind. Each installation is a unique design, but they all resemble a tree with multiple branches. Everything you need for a workout is in the structure, because it uses natural body weight and movements to enable 500 different exercises for every part of your body. Up to 30 people can use the equipment at the same time, making it an efficient use of space with a relatively small footprint.
MyEquilibria was designed by Vito Di Bari for Gian Luca Innocenzi, a visionary entrepreneur who is disrupting the business of fitness with his revolutionary innovations. The first installation went up in Milan, Italy in 2016. Since then, it has spread around the world: from Bologna, Italy to Fort Belvoir, Virginia to Pointe de Flacq, Mauritius, and many other places. It was even used by Samsung Electronics as part of Samsung Smart Fitness. Di Bari’s design for MyEquilibria was inspired by Voronoi Diagrams, which are used to find the area closer to a point than to any other point. This type of diagram is a mathematical representation of the natural world, and Di Bari felt this was the perfect way to show how MyEquilibria creates harmony between the natural world and technology.
While it appears elegantly thin, the materials used to build MyEquilibria are next-generation and designed for strength. From fiber-reinforced ultra-high-performance concrete, to stainless steel, to exotic and durable woods, MyEquilibria is resistant to damage and environmentally sustainable. Its complementary smartphone app allows MyEquilibria to offer guided exercises and tutorials. Technology embedded into its structure enables the smartphone app to teach new exercises, track workout progress, and keep users motivated.
Now, Vito Di Bari is bringing MyEquilibria to Miami Beach, Florida. Di Bari’s design is iconic and memorable, and it makes use of the existing calisthenics workout area at Lummus Park.
When Di Bari presented the design to the city commission of Miami Beach, the commission told him that
“we love it, it’s iconic, it’s just what we need to make Lummus Park beautiful.”
The commission was looking for a landmark that would give Lummus Park a unique identity, and that’s exactly what Di Bari’s design does.
MyEquilibria has been inspiring people around the world to get outside and move their bodies. The benefits are huge: better health, more connection to the environment and to other people, and a balance of mind and body. It’s moving whole communities into a more active lifestyle, and many people can’t wait to get it installed near them.
