Installed in 2024 on the west-facing wall of the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, “Trails of Expression” is Florida’s largest interactive mural, designed by internationally renowned artist Vito Di Bari. This monumental 85 by 65-foot (26 by 20 meters) mixed media mural pays tribute to the vibrant performing arts community housed within the venue while embodying the city’s core values of Teamwork, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Leadership, and Superior Service, collectively known as TRAILS. Through a dynamic composition of artistic figures including musicians, dancers, actors, and directors, the mural creates a theatrical tableau that visually narrates Coral Springs’ dedication to culture, community, and shared values.

Each figure in the mural is carefully chosen to symbolize one of the city’s core principles: the orchestra represents Teamwork, the ballerina embodies Respect, trapezists stand for Accountability, the electric guitarist and singer signify Innovation, and the director exemplifies Leadership. Set against an ethereal, stage-like backdrop of abstract colors and lights, these elements come together to celebrate the superior service that defines Coral Springs.

Vito Di Bari’s vision goes beyond traditional mural art by incorporating augmented reality (AR) technology. Visitors can use a smartphone app to bring the mural to life, the orchestra sways their violins, the ballerina leaps gracefully, trapezists swing with fluid motion, and the director orchestrates the scene with animated gestures. This innovative feature transforms the mural into an immersive experience that communicates Coral Springs’ values in a fresh, engaging way, blending art, technology, and community storytelling.
