CONFLUENCE – TRES RIOS, TRES ALMAS
Avondale Unveils a New Symbol of Fluidity and Connection
Avondale’s landscape has been transformed by the installation of “Confluence – Tres Rios, Tres Almas.” Located at the prominent urban center known as The BLVD, and created by artist Vito Di Bari, this 15-foot freestanding sculpture is more than an aesthetic addition; it is a profound tribute to the intersection of nature and civic pride.
“Confluence – Tres Rios, Tres Almas ” stands proudly amidst the landscape, a beacon of creativity and color.
Dynamic Forms Rooted in Local Geography
The sculpture’s three twisting spires are a rhythmic interpretation of the Agua Fria, Salt, and Gila rivers. By interlacing these forms, the artwork visualizes the “confluence” of waters that have sustained the region for centuries. The movement inherent in the steel design ensures that from every angle, the sculpture offers a new perspective on the harmony between the natural world and the built environment.

Grounded in Shared Civic Values
The concrete base of the monument provides a structural and philosophical foundation for the spires. Etched clearly into the stone are the words ACCELERATING, ACHIEVING, and ASPIRING. These terms resonate as the heartbeat of Avondale, reflecting a community that honors its heritage while relentlessly moving toward a bright, ambitious future.
A Tapestry of the People
Perhaps the most intimate detail of the project is the intricate silhouette work integrated into the sculpture’s base. These laser-cut metal panels act as a visual narrative of Avondale’s diverse identity. The silhouettes capture the essence of local life: the desert sun, families exploring the trails, and a cowboy on horseback—a nod to the deep western roots that anchor the city.
A Vibrant Future at The BLVD
By blending large-scale abstract form with detailed community storytelling, “Confluence” invites public interaction. It is not merely an object to be viewed from a car window but a destination where people can gather, find their own stories in the silhouettes, and celebrate the shared outdoor experiences that make Avondale unique.
